2010 Tour of Britain comes to the East this year

Calling all Cycling and Sports Fans – The Tour of Britain 2010

The Tour of Britain 2010 Cycle Race unveils its hardest route in seven years for the 2010 event, will take place across eight days of racing from 11th to the 18th September. The Tour of Britain is the UK’s biggest professional bicycle race and a centrepiece of the British Cycling calendar, attracting over a million spectators to the roadside in 2008, and hundreds of thousands more on television and via the internet. It will start in the North West of England and finish in London the following weekend giving Britain’s cycling fans a first chance to see Team Sky take on the world’s best on British roads.

This year’s event sees The Tour of Britain race into several new regional venues, and for the first time ever we will have two stages take place in the East of England region, bringing the race to new audiences in both Norfolk and Suffolk. Stage Six from King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth and Stage Seven from Bury St. Edmunds to Colchester.

The race will be passing by the Hotel Wroxham on Thursday 16th September, on Stage Six of the race that starts in King’s Lynn, racing through the spectacular countryside of Norfolk and finishes in Great Yarmouth. This is the longest stage at 190km on small, exposed roads where the wind could influence the nature of the race. While a bunch sprint to the finish line in Great Yarmouth is expected. There is also an opportunity to see a heroic, long break made by one of the top riders; such is the nature of the stage. This could be a decisive stage especially if there is only a narrow gap between the teams, making for an exciting day of cycling to watch.

For a great way to see the race, why not stay at the Hotel Wroxham during this stage for the week; with Single Room accommodation starting at just £59.50 per person, per night; and Double Room accommodation from £88.50 per person, per night; both inclusive of a Full English Breakfast.

Giving you the great opportunity to watch the race from the roadside at the Hotel Wroxham or finding your own spot along the course for you to see The Tour of Britain 2010 Cycle Race from.
